Yeah, back after Sandy Hook he was the one who put his name to the bipartisan "assaults weapon" ban they tried to pass. Otherwise, he's a fairly moderate if not conservative Democrat who is just about the only thing acting as firewall to keep Biden/Harris from ramming through their dream agenda.
Personally, I think he's doing it because he likes the attention. He's always in the news now because he's seen as the deciding vote on whether it will come to the floor or not and all the pols on either side of the aisle are slobbering on his knob to get their bills through.
Manchin is the road block but if the dems should actually win more seats in the senate in 2022 they could pass what ever they want without Manchin. That should be scary and yes it should go republicans way BUT you never know. Keep in mind Biden is giving away tons of FREE stuff which can make people do DUMB things for that free stuff. Vote for me I will give you free fill in the blank.
