If it did fall under HIPPA that would just prevent the gym employee from sharing that information with someone else.
HIPPA is about controlling who shares information, not who requests it.
If your gym called your doctors office and asked for your VAX records, the doctors office would be in trouble for giving them out. The gym would not be in trouble for asking or receiving.

There are a few questions that are off limits in job interviews and so forth, but even those aren't criminal, they're just inviting a lawsuit.
HIPPA is about who you can share information with, not about asking for it.

Right, it does not matter what form the information is in, it is the data itself that's protected.
People who *have* the data cannot generally *share* it except in certain circumstances.
But, it says nothing about people who *don't* already have it from requesting it.
Basically nobody can violate HIPPA unless they *give* your information to someone else.
If the gym requires it, but they do not share it, then they are OK.

Funny this is the first I’m hearing of this. Not saying it’s not happening but I have followed this disaster very closely up until recently. You’d think the so-called experts would warn of this?“In fact, there's a phenomenon we've observed clinically where a person with COVID-19 can have very low oxygen levels but otherwise appear well, termed "happy hypoxia." The happy hypoxia is a symptom that is not common in normal flu but is in Covid.

she reads everything and the fine print ..
it was some form on privacy form .. but if you sign it you waved it .. gotta read the wording ..

I’m not sure that will happen. My wife’s job is mandating it even though she is remote as well and she’s getting it. I think she wanted it anyway but just never really wanted to say so to me. This is now her excuse. She believes it works. My job has mandated it or testing but they haven’t said a word about it. I work for the state so I only know this because of what Cuomo said. Nothing from HR or anything.

My work is saying we all must get vaccinated. Helllll naCuomo told us the pandemic was over..Big Fireworks display a month ago. Ha! Laughing my ass off. My work just stated vaxxers have to wear masks!
