So they want you to also lock your ammo now. Afaik currently you only have to lock up your firearms, not the ammo. This would change that.

What... Are they going to include anyone exercising their 2nd Amendment thereby consents to their home being searched and inspected by default? Yeah, like Westchester and their BS Safe Inspection when you own multiple firearms!
Tell you what officer, what you need is a warrant in order to enter my premises based upon a "suspicion" that I might not be complying with the law. Go away and come back when you have one, please do have a great day while you're doing so of course. But get that warrant, thank you!
Owning Firearms does not grant the STATE the right to burden those exercising their 2A rights with arduous hurdles, let alone arbitrary ones like this. Can't see it standing scrutiny! But hey, the progressives are going to do unlike the Republicans when they had control for 2 years... They're going to ram shit down everyone's throat!!! That's for sure!

I have heard they do. They don't need a warrant if you consent to the 'search'. Sullivan requires receipt for a safe after 10 handguns or something.

Coming to "see" the safe, in itself, outside of a lawful requirement (as an administrative function) that is associated with your "possession of firearms" is unconstitutional! Period! If they inspected "EVERY" home, then it wouldn't be. Of course we know they could never do that... So why is this "inspection" of firearm containing homes tolerated? Guess nobody has challenged it! That's why!
Arbitrary and capricious application of powers not specifically legislated and signed into LAW that affects the exercise of Constitutionally recognized "RIGHTS" is reprehensible!
That it be done and carried out by a government employee, with police powers, attempting to unduly influence compliance, amounts to nothing more than "Forceful" application of those arbitrary and capricious administrative functions.
