back in the early 90's, I had a tax account that was a wizard with the IRS, he was so flamboyant, I stop using him. The IRS decided to audit him. from what I could decipher, he had close to $5 million in real estate holding and other shit, they (IRS)started to hit him with fines and penalties 2 weeks into his audit, he took a header off the Driving Park bridge. That shifts ALL his customers to another account, that was "appointed" by the IRS, the new guy was on the news just shaking his head, rolling his eyes and saying, "I have no clue how he thought he was going to get away with all this non-sense". now a few hundred accounts are under extremely tight audits from the IRS, and of course the state has to get involved. so now all these people are getting spanked by the IRS. They (IRS, state and FED) called me, but I told them I stopped using "Larry" years ago and give them my new accountants name, it took a couple court dates, but I was cleared, 'cause I never heard from the IRS again.

Lesson here: Once the IRS has you in their sites, they will literally make up the rules as they go. and they won't let go, ever. Until they are satisfied they got every last penny they think they deserve. And there is no "statue of limitation" with the IRS. If you're being audited, spend the money on a good tax attorney, otherwise the IRS will run over you like steam roller, AND THEY DON'T CARE about anything other than THEIR MONEY

I've been awoken to the IRS since I got my first job and started paying taxes. Actually, it really woke me up to how insidiously high NYS taxes its residents. I claim zero deductions and the Feds at lest give me my money back as a refund while the State decides to rape me for additional money.

My point is maybe people would opt to pay their taxes if the tax code wasn't so fucked up and did steal most of your money because the gov want mansions and boats and trips and to buy their way back in so they can make more money off our backs. I have had it with these people, I hope they all burn in the pit of hell for eternity.

I think the point of his statement was more in regards to the Young in the US that think everything is free willy.

So many of the young Americans think is only the responsibility of the rich and others to pay taxes.

exactly right. Remember Gov, ($4000 hooker) Spitzer? he had the state IRS send out random tax bills to small business. I use to get tax bills from the state that said "Our records show you failed to pay you're 1990 3rd quarter sales tax, you owe us $236 ( it was always small amounts, 5, 6 or 10 years prior). And most small business guys would panic and just send the state $236. NOT ME, my new account keep immaculate records. every correspondence with the IRS, Dept of Labor, and dot gov bullshit. My account would send the IRS a cancelled check and tell them politely to GFT. I always wondered how much the state made ripping off all the small businesses in the state
