Map reading, Land Nav & Compass use

I had pretty extensive map and compass orientation and really enjoyed it, even got practical application in the 'virtually' unchartered mountains of south east asia. My Lensatic compass was the only thing I brought home with me.

I took an Orienteering course years ago so that I could properly teach it to a Scout pack that I was the scout master of many years ago. I haven’t had the need to use that skill in quite some time now.

I used to be terrible but I have gotten way better since traveling more and hunting.
I used to love the training of land Nav in the Army. I went through so many courses, loved doing it. Knowledge that is never forgotten.

I have a Microsoft Streets map program, version 2010. I frequently print maps from the program and use the map in conjunction with my GPS. Works for me.

Living in a Rv and traveling all the time, I have a navigator, that bitch better learn how to read a map or we'll be driving in circles for the next 5 years 
I did myself too. The jungle is quite the challenge.
