3 and a half feet of snow? Pfft.
Its a decent amount of snow in a couple of days, but its no where near a real blizzard. The Oswego area got 11 freaking feet of snow in 2007 in 4 days, and they had the roads and streets clear inside of a week and most people had their driveways clear before that. Obviously a much smaller town, but like most towns in those days they had ample staffing (plow drivers) and outside help. Redfield got 18 feet from the same storm!
WTF is 3 and a half feet of snow in NY?
There are signs all over the state begging for plow truck drivers, state, county, and local. I see the signs everyday. There is a very serious shortage truck drivers, and every company is begging for drivers. Compared to what commercial drivers can make now in the private sector, almost no driver is interested in working for either the state or local barns. The pay for plowing roads days, nights, weekends, holidays, etc. is freaking terrible given the time commitment and responsibility. NY doesn't have enough plow drivers, and that situation is only going to get worse.
Buffalo voted for Gov Whorechul. You reap what you sow.
