Just ordered one of these:
It is a Marlin 1895 GBL. Ordered it from Tanners Sports Center in Jamison, PA via GunBroker. Best price I could find. (Bud's had a slightly lower price but fuck them since they refuse to ship to NYC and somehow consider Nassau County as part of NYC. Someone there once told me then argued with me that Nassau county is part of NYC and I could not convince them otherwise, so no shipping to Nassau either and no purchases by me from them! They even list it as a no sales or shipping area on their website along with the 5 counties in NYC. Frigging nincompoops in my estimation.) Anyway, there is a $100 rebate offer on these from Marlin if bought by July 30th, so this is a really good deal.
Details on this particular model:
1895 GBL, 45-70 Gov't., 18.5" barrel with deep-cut Ballard-type rifling (6 grooves), 1:20" twist rate, 6-shot, full-length tubular magazine, lever action with big-loop finger lever, side ejection, solid-top receiver, deeply blued metal surfaces, hammer block safety, American pistol-grip, two tone brown laminate stock, cut checkering, ventilated recoil pad, tough Mar-Shield finish, swivel studs, adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear sight, ramp front sight with brass bead and wide-Scan hood, solid-top receiver tapped for scope mount, 37" long, 13 3/8” length of pull, 7 lbs. approximate weight.
Now I am praying that another online bid I made on an 1895G, with Hessney Auction Company, gets outbid. I am pretty sure I will be outbid on that one since I only bid $350 on it but if not - my son will get the 1895G if I cannot sell it.
