Just to sweeten the pot, there will be another backdoor tax change under the new mayor that will hit middle and upper class taxpayers. Whether you rent or own, this will provide further encouragement for the income tax base to flee the city.

Nobody cares in Albany.

The problem is those who see the taxes high and leave are no longer a voice in the state so those most upset are now the least vocal because they just bailed on the whole thing.

This is one thing I promised I will not do. I may hop the border to PA, but my goal isn't to leave NY -- it's to avoid their tax bullshit.

My goal is to participate and one day return. NY is always my true home, but it is run by idiots and tyrants. I will continue to advocate for change in NY, no matter what state I'm in. I'm not going to run and give up the fight.
