May I have recommendations on a new electronic reloading scale?

My 20 year old RCBS electronic scale weighed it's last grain of powder. (A moment of silence please.)

I've been using the old RCBS 505 beam scale as a backup but really like the speed I get with the electronic models.

I single station Rockchucker reload and don't need a scale-automatic powder dispenser. I basically throw a charge and trickle to the desired powder weight. So a simple-accurate-reliable scale is sufficient. I'm looking for something that can be converted to 120 volts.

So, what has the reloading community been using?

I was hoping you would get a few more responses DM, I'm starting to lean in that direction myself. JunkBox, that sure looks like it would fill the bill, kind'a pricey though.

Hi Robin, Hornady makes a smaller one that just runs on 2 AAA batteries. I have that smaller measurer too, and it has been flawless just like its bigger brother. I didn`t post the smaller one in here because DM was asking about a 120v model and i didn`t want to confuse anyone. These Hornady scales seem to be the best bang for the buck, for me. They work very well. As we all know, they aren`t high end units, but they do a pretty darn good job, for what ya paid for them. I think the smaller one is around $60 to $70 bucks.


I just looked the smaller one up on Amazon. They`ve got a good price on it. And who don`t LOVE free shipping, lol.

For powder charge trickling your RCBS 505 would work better than cheap electronic scales. It's slow and inconvenient to weigh objects of different weight, but works well for preset weight if used correctly. Placed at eye level on the shelf, isolated from bench vibrations and protected from dust.
I use expensive lab grade electronic scale A & D Fx-120i , RCBS 505 is my back up.
