The GOP is effectively finished as a party. It's toast. They just lost half their base if not more. Voters are livid. As much as I loathe the Dems at least we know who they are. The GOP is just as bad and here's why; we expect them to be on our side and oppose the Dems but they don't. They enable them. They're just Democrat-lite a wolf in sheep's clothing. The GOP could have done something and didn't they never stood up for trump. They never stood up for us.

I walked away from the Republican Party years ago but have voted my conscience in every election. A political party is only as good as the people who support it, the party is supposed to represent that sub-component of the population. The GOP powers-that-be arrogantly think voters will roll over and fall in line. Even after four years, they still don't fucking get it. This wasn't really about Trump. People are angry and disillusioned with the corruption of the system. It should have been obvious when the Tea Party rose. Trump was the only one who even appeared to go against the system and put the country and her citizens first. That's why he won. The sentiment was there before Trump and has only multiplied since. He harnessed the populist sentiment, he didn't create it.
