A-7926A, microstamping, passed the Assembly.
As far as I know NYS a wants it in two places as well.Ummm....how many microstamping firearms are currently on the market?
California's requirement was for microstamping on the primer and the case. That tech does not even exist.
The manufacturers may not stop selling here, but if nys says it’s illegal to sell or buy a gun without microstamping capabilities then you won’t be able to get what you want or any pistol for that matter.According to the text it will be years before it goes into effect, so buy what you want , it’s not like all the manufactures are going to instantly stop selling here, but after that we’re fucked
You are correct the whole package will passOh it’s all going to pass. That was their intent all along. Just waiting for a crisis to justify it.
Always been that way. Its all written up sitting in the top drawer of the desk, just waiting for the right tragedy to exploit.I think all of the stuff the NYgov is trying to pound through was already in the works, but wasn’t ready for them to force it through committees and Assembly/Senate, until two mass shootings encouraged them to ram new legislation through on the last day before recess, all in the name of safety. This crap was coming either way; NYSRPA v. Bruen made them scared, and this was all in the works. The big news coverage shootings just made it convenient for the bloated cowards to go for the buzzer beater 3-pointer to end our playoff hopes. We were screwed last November when they knew they were gonna get a beat down from the Supremes. When your boss gets yelled at, who does your boss yell at?
I hope so too, but we all know that they won’t. They’ll continue to sell guns to the people that are oppressing us while denying us the same opportunity to purchaseI hope the manufacturers pull their offerings from the NY government market.
Now you’re talking. Glad you joined!!Micro stamping is a de-facto ban on semi auto pistols, the Supreme Court ruled you can’t ban an entire class of fire arm in common use…. But I forgot, NY is a Constitution free zone.
The gun manufacturers should refuse to sell to the State Government but we know that won’t happen, NY’s special class of citizens will still be able to get what they want
I don’t know. California has a list of acceptable pistols and it’s stood this long. Not sure where that’s at, but I know it’s by every make and model and the manufacturer has to submit stuff and get it approved to be allowed to be sold in CA. You can have say all of one line of 1911 approved and the other line of 1911’s made by another company non can be sold. All the same guns, but different outcomes. I’m sure it costs money and hoops galore for the approval so I’m sure some just say not worth it.Is microstamping going to be like the ammo background check in the safe act? Just kind of not happen because it’s not really feasible. I thought we’ve been down the microstamping rabbit hole and it doesn’t work. Doesn’t stamp clear enough to actually be useful, firing pins wear.
It may be time to start a NY based gun manufacturing company that specializes in microstamping, to serve the NY gun buyers specific needs.
