Middle Saranac Monster...

I spent the last 5 days on Weller Pond (above Middle Saranac Lake). While fishing on Middle I see this thing coming towards the boat. I'm fishing off a small island and it is making a bee line for the island. He was probably 300 yards off shore and had about another 300 to go. I haven't seen a buck this nice in years. I circled him once to get the pics and then left him on his way. It made the weekend! Lord knows the fish weren't biting!!!

I've always found it amazing and satisfying to witness wildlife. It reminds me of a time I was hunting Tibet's state forest early one morning. I was sitting on the down slope of a hill, my feet against an old stone fence. I hear a rustling off to my right. I look and it's a black bear cub barreling down the the hill about 65 yards away from me. Then a second cub, a third and then the mama bear all barreling down the hill completely unaware of my presence. The experience absolutely made my day. I'll always remember it. It's one thing I enjoy about hunting. You are out of your element and are able to see things you normally wouldn't.
