MIDDLETOWN - The Middletown Common Council Tuesday night voted in support of the state's Protect Our Courts Act that would make it unlawful for ICE to make a civil arrest while a person is going to,, attending or leaving court unless the officer presents a valid judicial warrant or court order.

The Poughkeepsie Common Council, Monday night, approved the same memorializing resolution.

The group Nobody Leaves Mid-Hudson is spearheading the effort to have 10 municipalities across the Mid-Hudson to support the resolution.
