Ah, yes, the art of the deal. The ultimate deal maker. Strength through peace. Trump is 100% trying to put diplomatic pressure on everyone with all of his military actions, just like with tariffs. To think otherwise is being dishonest with yourself.I'm willing to give him some latitude.
Venezuela certainly didn't turn into some major entanglement.
If he manages to prosecute the others in a similar manner we'll be far better off.
The reason we end up with messes like Afghanistan and Vietnam is because our leaders want to use the military to apply diplomatic pressure to gain advantages with our enemies in endless negotiations.
Trump seems to use them to destroy our enemies as quickly and efficiently as possible.
He's not following the Johnson/Bush/Clinton/Obama/Biden plan of "trying to get them back to the negotiating table".
He is demanding unconditional surrender.
He isn't playing ROE games to try to influence Iranian leadership. He has directed the military to eliminate Iran's ability to wage war, period.
If we're still fighting Iran by summer, then I'll re-evaluate, but if it goes like Venezuela, then I'll call it an unmitigated success. If the US embassy in Tehran is re-opened, then he should get credit
For ending a 47 year war and reclaiming sovereign US territory that was stolen under Carter.
