It's the flip side of the support for trump. The more he was attacked, the more his hard core base dug in. The difference here is the delusion of the cuomo supporters. Russiagate was a bogus investigation as were the two impeachment trials. Here there is quite a bit of evidence of wrongdoing on the part of cuomo. But his supporters literally believe cuomo was "set up" by those evil republicans who planted these women. My wife overheard this conversation from a few of her co-workers. These are the people who like to call themselves the "party of science" and think trump supporters are deranged.
