More women with pistol permits

Just came back from the local Sheriff dept handgun permit office. Been there a dozen times in the past year or so.. You have to sign in , and give a reason for the vist.. "add a pistol"- "Pistol permit" etc.. I have noticed the past few years that on some days, there are 2 female names for every male name on the sign in sheets, either adding pistols or getting their permits.. So much more so than years ago.. Good to see that more women are refusing to become victims, in a degenerating society... bob

I look around the office and scan the list whenever I'm at the Erie County PP office as well. I've seen the same trend for a couple of years now. I've even bumped into a few adding a second and third firearm to the permit.

Mrs. S&W Fan has a half doz. on her permit, that are actually her guns. I have yet to add all of mine to her permit.

We were there to add these to Mrs beebee's permit- a Beretta model 81 .32 acp and a Ruger LCP II .22 LR

All our handguns are on one anothers permit.. Not sure if thats a good thing or not..
We now fill up 2 cards, and thats about all we need at our age, but hey, you never know whats lurking in the next look through the glass counter at the local LGS.. know what I mean?... bob

I think it's a good thing to have them on one another's permit, if something happens to either of you then the other doesn't have to deal with possible confiscation of any that aren't on the permit. I've got my wife convinced that's a good idea but she's dragging her feet about taking the pistol class to get the ball rolling. My next purchase is going to be a target 22 (Victory I think) and I think she'd enjoy target shooting. She used to be a competitive dart player so she likes that sort of thing.

My friend’s wife applied for a permit. The sheriff called her husband to ask him if he knew. He did. She got the permit.

My Misses finally got hers. She never had any interest in getting one. But after the last few mass shootings, she said that it was time to get one.

A few of the girls that have worked for me over the years have gotten theirs. I like to think I helped nudge them in that direction. I just couldn’t be a reference since they worked for me. One is in the process right now and if I sell the Inn soon she might get her first pistol as a bonus.

I was introduced to target shooting at a young age, and finally joined a local rifle range that's about 3 miles from my house 16 years ago. I think it's great that more & more women are not only getting into the target shooting sports & getting a carry license for personal defense after being a male dominated field for so many years. As I read in a magazine a while ago, women are the future of our shooting sports as they continue to become interested in target shooting.
