My 45 GAPs

Got some parts in for the Glock 38. I forgot to get a shiny anodized red mag release. I'm on the fence if I want to send the 38 slide out for porting and optic cut like my 37.



They look nice together, the 37 and 38. The 38 has been in my rotation as one of my EDCs and im enjoying it.

Reloaded some 45 GAP using 160gr Barnes TAC-XP JHP with 4.5gr HP-38 in Federal brass primed with Aguila small primers.

I used to know a Trooper that reviewed Officer shootings in the State: he said that every shooting by a Trooper using the GAP was fatal...Officers were allowed to purchase their Service Weapons when the State finally realized that ammunition that civilians wouldn't be able to get if the guns were lost/stolen also translates to THEY wouldn't be able to get it any easier or cheaper...it IS expensive and uncommon compared to many other Pistol calibers.

No, the wall thickness differs.

I purchased 2000 rounds of 45 GAP brass for dirt cheap a few months ago.

I don't think so: different base and GAP is higher pressure than acp.
You can add .357 Sig, .400 Cor-Bon, 9mm Largo, 9mm Dillion, .327 Federal, 32 H&R, and a dozen other answers to non existent problems.

Well you most likely could ream the walls if you had to, or use 308 brass.

2K brass may last you a lifetime.

I have 4K rounds of 356TSW and another 2K in new brass for it.

The premise of the .44 Auto Mag. was cutting .308 down and sizing accordingly (I think some inside reaming was also necessary) I had one of the AMT's way back when, and it came with ammo....Had a Wildey in .45 Win Mag as well...super cool, but really they were White Elephants.

Very nice. I kinda like that as an uncommon caliber the thinking behind it seems to make sense.

On the positive, I doubt you ever have to worry about an ammo run/shortage lol

R. Lee Ermey loved the 45 GAP cartridge. There is a YT video of him speaking dearly of it.
