My AR9 build finished!

Finally completed my 9mm PCC build and got it to the range today. Been accumulating parts for a while now. Put about 50 rounds of mixed ammo through it including steel case without a single hiccup. Accurate out to 50 yards but I didn't spend any time dialing in red dot as I need a small riser to get a better cheek weld. Once I get that set I'll dial in and take it out to 100.

Rifle built with Matrix Arms Glock compatible lower and Matrix side charging upper. Barrel is Kaw Valley Precision with Matrix MLok handguard and Kak Industry can. Finished with Mission First Tactical Minimalist stock, a spur grip and @Bullet Guy 's Extended Enhanced NY Trigger guard.

Build was a breeze. Props go to @GUNSICK for pointing me in the right direction for parts and "consulting" on the build.

I did a lot of research on 9mm platform - there are a lot of people making them. Several have gone out of business taking people's money with them. Two vendors can recommend are Matrix Arms and Angstadt Arms based on their product and their helpful can do attitudes. Note: I'm not affiliated with either. Just have my experience to work with.

Both are relatively small shops as far as I can tell but really helpful. The owner of one called me directly to answer my questions and I've corresponded with the other through email. I'm a huge fan of small family run businesses.

Today was the first time I had it out so I'll have to reserve longer term feedback but the machine ran perfectly. Accurate and was flinging brass 2 bays away. Not one FTE or FTF across Winchester White Box, wolf steelcase (both 115 grain) and Blazer 124 grain.

This setup would make a sick pistol build but I'm not sure a top loader would work. Maybe my next build..,

So what's the deal with that flash suppressor kak can. That is an illegal feature to have when building a featureless semi auto rifle that uses a detachable magazine. Why not just add your pistol grip and other stuff too?

Its not an illegal feature as it is not designed to suppress flash, mitigate muzzle rise etc. As per manufacturer:
"KAK INDUSTRY "FLASH CAN". THIS IS A SOLID 6061 ALUMINUM DEVICE THAT IS DESIGNED TO DIRECT MUZZLE GASES AND THE MUZZLE FLASH FORWARD.BLACK MILITARY TYPE HARD ANODIZING. Put me down for info on your build as I'm looking at one as well.

Was handling a Just Right Carbine with Thordsen recently ( $650-$750). Stopped at a LGS that has a PSA PCC lower and upper ( not assembled, selling both parts individually ) that he is looking into pinning the mag ($650 -$700) and am doing online research to see which models can be made BS compliant.
Camp 9s and 4s are pricey as are PC9s and PC4s.

What other options do we have behind the lines?

This was not a "budget build" compared to an AR 223/556 build. 9mm stuff, primarily the upper and lower receivers, more expensive. Ill put list together over weekend but I'm kinda afraid to know how much I have in it.

Add this buffer/ spring combo and the recoil from the heavy bolt gets tamed. It's expensive but it worked for me.

Maybe someone can clue me in here? How is the KAK FLASH CAN model any different than the NOVESKE KX3 that uses an identical coned inner core as well to direct the gas and flash? or any of these other flash suppressors with the same overall design with very minor differences with logos and stuff? That's the issue with varying descriptions of products from different manufacturers that are making the same kind of parts. My guess is that it's probably not an excellently performing flash suppressor and so the description is suitable for that, but nevertheless it does appear to still be a flash suppressor just like the others out there right now both cosmetically and mechanically.

I don't know why they call it a flash suppressor when they don't suppress flash. It can't. It has no holes.

One of them you linked even calls it a muzzle brake and a flash suppressor at the same time.

The original one is called a flash can.
