So my brother calls yesterday.......hes making small talk but I know wants something...never just calls cuz.....so back and forth...finally he hits it head on...:hey,,,,you think I can BORROW a gun....." Im thinking hes asking about a long gun...but then adds...."just to keep on me...in my tool bag.." then I realize the full extend of his stupidity and thinking he should know better....
I said you dont have a PP permit? or did you apply and get one......."well no but..I wont tell anyone...just for a little while till things blow over" I tell him he afraid his little greece suburb home gonna get hit up by the English Rd apartments. ( low income housing near his residence) he goes on to explain with his young adopted daughter and what not hes gotta protect her...and I tell him ofcourse and all the facts like he cant have a pistol w/o a pistol permit...DUH.....and finaly I offer I can lend you the money or give you the money for a long gun...like a shotgun......no he dont wanna "go through all that" he just needs Protection...I said its no big deal explained he process........and I said I can give you the same thing I gave my daugher when she went to college and thats pepper spray but no...so sorry.....dont lend guns...especially pistols......its not a lending kinda thing and not good for either of us if a situation arose and try to be as nice as I can but all along saying NO and why NO and what not.
But jeez....I woulda never thought I'd get asked that....he semi knows the rules but just surpised he asked or would ask...but it was good in the long run...Didnt want a long gun of any sort and told him......go for his permit after all this...its worth the effort and now he sees it is/would be but......I dont know he;d get it...he has a pretty nasty Ex-wife that would fight it im sure........but Im still sorta shocked....with it all......
but he knows better deep down I think......but yeah..not going there...family or not.... I dont think he is of any high risk myself. an Electrician on closed job sites like in wegmans stores and stuff but I dont think any danger in his "hood either. But my advise...go by a shotty to help I could give you some shells if you needed but .....thats all I could do......
