My dream Taurus PT911

I know that may sound like an oxymoron to many of you, but when I first started dreaming of having my pistol permit and the guns I would have, this was one of them. I used to draw pictures of it on my notebooks in school. Back then I just like the looks of it all polished, with the bull emblem. So,I was tooling around on gunbroker and noticed there was one for sale in mint condition AND the seller was 5 minutes from my house! It must have been fate. In any case, I went to go see it to make sure it would even fit my hands and it fit like a glove. Slide was smooth as silk. Bought it on the spot. Seller was a great guy and gave me a good deal. This isn't the actual gun, but a representative photo. I'm so stoked. Can't wait for that damn plastic card!!

Sometimes we can't explain what makes our gun a "dream gun." Then again, if we all shared the same dreams, we'd really be in trouble.

I used to do the same thing with my (now many) P99.

That is a sweet looking gun. Mine came with white grips but I'm not a big fan of them so I'll likely be putting the original black ones back on.

Thanks. Hopefully it's performance will match my expectations of it. If not, oh well. It's a gun in the safe, and that can't be a bad thing, right?

Won't do that. Not sure how soon I'll have anything to compare it to as that's the only one my wife knows about. Not sure how to get the others in the house and on the permit without her knowing, lol.

Congrats! I also own a few Taurus's, love them. Customer service is top notch and fast as hell. Lifetime transferable warrenty also(at least I know my models all are, I'm sure it must be for you too). Have fun! And just hope it's not like the Brazilian Army kind of Taurus that fires all by it's lonesome

Not at all, no.

Taurus makes Beretta clones, and arguably S&W revolver clones (sorta), but no CZ clones. The PT911 however is not a clone of anything exactly; though it's mechanics are based on the Beretta design.

After I posted that I realized they did Beretta type pistols. Seems like they used to make a clone of the 92. My IMI Baby Eagle is actually a CZ clone.

So all these people here on the forum have invested hundreds of man-hours answering your pistol questions for months now... and in spite of not yet having your permit ~ which is in jeopardy according to your thread last month ~ you've bought a pistol you may or may not be able to own. A pistol that not one single person suggested, a virtual tactical Yugo.

Well, if you read the reason I bought this one, it would make sense that i would've bought this one regardless of what anyone else said. It was a nostalgia gun for me. And I did in fact listen to much of the advice on here. I've actually bought a number of guns (8 and one caliber exchange kit to be exact) in anticipation of getting my permit. If for some reason I don't get approved for it, I could unload these and not lose too much of anything since I picked up most of them for a song. Thanks for noticing though.
