Biden is releasing 50 million barrels. The US consumes 20 million barrels a day. It's literally 2.5 days worth of oil. Silly and ridiculous. This will do absolutely nothing for gas prices.

I always thought strategic reserves were for national defense purposes.

Why wouldn’t it. It’s a three day supply. If I told you that I could supply you with three days worth of goods for you business out of 365 days would you change anything? Would you drop your prices and stop searching for a cheaper supplier? Hell no.

They keep saying they want to transition from fossil fuels to green energy, but it hasn't been feasible, So they are going to make it feasible by raising the costs of natural fuels beyond your ability to pay, thereby making green energy ""Cheap"" in comparison.

I am concerned that the Biden administration's solution, step 3, will be to say "The producers of oil, gas, Thanksgiving Turkey's, toilet paper, and so forth, are putting profits ahead of the people so the Government will take over those companies to set fair prices and to save the people from these evil profiteers." Then the govt can reduce production even further.

Nah that can’t happen. Just like that’s not their plan with rental properties. How cannot not be with the you don’t need to pay rent for two years. Now NYS is thinking of making it permanent and the citizens are pushing for it? If I had a rental property I’d post it for sale right now with a sign saying Fuck You democrats you’re not getting it.

June 2008...price /barrel = $156.85 Gas at the pump (national average) =$4.06 (record high on both counts).

Nov. 2021...price/barrel = $78.50 Gas at the pump (national average) = $3.40

Anyone want to speculate on what the average gas will cost when oil hits the previous record?

All I care about is that we understand the source of the shortages, the shortcomings of the supply chain, and try to address them if possible.

If things will be getting better, great. That's what I want to see. And I want to see those who cannot come up with solutions pushed aside for those who can.

Yes Toyota did have a big stockpile of chips, but there supply did run out as well and they had to shutdown or slowdown for a period of time as well.
I just find it miraculous how when GM and Ford call the chip makers this crisis just disappeared after building billion dollar EV factories and taking in the same or more money on less produced. Now after this is complete the issues just vanishes? I’m not buying it. There’s more at play here.

And how’s the price at the pump? I also find it great timing to do this as after thanksgiving the price historically declines because travel ceases. The price will naturally decline a bit and Biden will claim it’s his doing.
