Hello Everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself to you all and my organization. My name is Chris and I have been a volunteer for my local ambulance corps for over 15 years. I road for 11 and retired in 2002 after I was a first responder to 911 and was at ground zero. A few years ago I developed nodules in my lungs and needed information from my corps to file for the 911 health program and found out that we were closed. I took over the organization and began to bring it back to life but found out that we had lost our operating license as an ambulance provider to our community. I decided to turn the corps into a training center first and then bring is a rescue response unit to cover northeast queens. After watching what has been happening in our country with all these shootings I felt that offering tactical first aid courses would be a god thing for our community.
I have be trained for many situations that can occur in todays world but I feel we as citizens must grow with the times to protect our families and this includes first aid. Get trained, may it be just CPR with basic first aid you never know when you will have to use it. I could rant on the topic but I will leave it at that.
