My nephew just made a cool sheath

Not sure if this belongs here or not but my nephew just bought this knife during a roadtrip to New Mexico. Made the leather sheath. All the stamping and dyeing was done by hand. Just wanted to post because it's so cool.

Nylon sheath that came with it on top.



Started out plain vegtan leather (shown in process of shaping and stamping)

I really like Leather goods, but as close to making anything was a stop at the Tandy Store in Syracuse for a sheath kit and some thread that's still in the bag from last Summer.

I asked him if he'd be interested in making some more but he really didn't give me a straight answer. This is just a hobby for him and I suspect it would take more time than it would be worth but if he says he would be interested I'll pass along his contact info. That's not why I posted. Thanks.

Nice cross draw sheath ! I’ve made several myself for some stone knives that I used to make for archery rendezvous trade blankets and thats as nice as any I’ve seen out there.

I asked him about that I don't think it's real. It's a snap that he bought on Amazon haha. He put alot of effort into it though. The leather is hand dyed then airbrushed. I suppose that's how he got the black (it may actually be a very dark blue) edge around the red background where the snap is. All of the patterning is done by hand with stamps and a mallet. He's working on a G43 pancake holster for one of his buddies.
