Interesting history on these rifles. There's a pretty good wiki about them...

From what I've read, these rifles were bought from the Spanish about 2005 or so from a major importer when they no longer had a need for them. From there, they were sold pretty quickly and probably went right into collectors hands, which is why you don't see them for sale very often.

Open rear sight for 100 meters.

Turn the dial to the peep sight settings for 200, 300, and 400 meters respectively.

The flash hider and the end of the tube are for bayonet mounting, but that is not their only function.

The flash hider is also used for grenade launching.

The tube is also storage for the cleaning kit.

That is a beautiful rifle you have there. Congrats! I was being a smart ass when I guessed Mossberg, but I'm sure you gathered that. Looking forward to hearing more about this rifle.

It's a weapon of many traditionalist's dreams. Bolt action, Open adjustable irons, flash suppressor, and cleaning kit that is easily accessible. IMO if I had to choose between a Rem 700 or the FR8, well, you can guess the answer. When you get the time, see if you can get some pics or vid of shooting it, would love to see the capabilities of such a weapon

It's not the point, the Waco anti-gun folks don't live in reality, they read or hear a pro-gunner use the term "assault" and they run with it. Pisses me off, kind of like using the term clip instead of magazine or as used on Law and Order automatic instead of semi.

Besides real anti's don't know the fucking difference between a bolt, pump or semi. but get a hard-on when they hear the word "ASSUALT"!!!

Nahhh, I didn't fuck up. It was deliberate. The whole point of the thread title was to troll.

A rifle with a functioning bayonet mount, flash suppressor, and a "tube", in original configuration.

The point was to deceive people here into thinking it was a semi auto (which would be illegal in NY in that configuration). I wanted to make it more difficult for people to guess what it was, but apparently I gave it away when I said it was Spanish.

This picture, is as I recall, THE actual boomstick that POP carried to and in the rally in Albany. Didn't they take that from you POP? This has history.

I bought one of these over ten years ago for $35. Great rifle. Was used as a training rifle and all where modified to fire .308. One of the last Mauser variants produced.
