Surplus Beretta model 81 Cheetah, Italian made surplus.. Mine was made in 1980..
.32 acp, classic lines, a joy to handle and shoot, and these things just reek of superior quality. So much nicer than my collection of plastic fantastic handguns.. Very light recoil, extremely accurate. They are selling these things by the car load these days. Some are not even fired from what I have read.. At $200?.. No brainer... bob

I got mine from J&G Sales.. There are half a dozen sites where you can get them... They ONLY come with 12 round mags, thats how they were made. I had to find an ffl thats a smith and was lucky to find a very good one close by.. He altered the mag down to a 10 rounder for an extra 25 bucks or so.. You can easily modify model 84 mags .. they are 10 round .380 mags from Beretta, and its easily done with a hammer and some patience.. The procedure is on Youtube.
there is a guy on Gunbroker, or Guns America that sells them already altered.. Most of the sites that sell them will ship without a mag if you want, but its better to send it to a smith/ffl and have them modify it.. Seriously, these are NICE guns.. I would use the word "elegant" to describe them.. Mine was a little rusty/crusty when it arrived, and I bitched, so they knocked $45 off the price, refunded my card..
I had paid $30 extra for a "hand select", which are suppossed to be in VERY good condition.. It wasn't.. Not awful, but well used, some rust and pitting, bluing missing etc.. When I complained. I had a choice of a full refund, exchange, or money off.. I kept the gun, not wanting to pay another $35 transfer fee. Glad i did.. I spent some time cleaning, picking away at small rust pocket with a pin and some Remoil, and believe it or not a plain black permanent marker, and the gun looks REALLY good now... The bluing on these guns is not dark blue, its black, and a stupid old black marker was a good match.. My gun looks great now...
These were turn ins from the Italian prison system from what I understand.. Well wort the money,, VERY high quality guns, and some people are getting guns in mint, never fired condition for $200.. Others are getting rust buckets for $250.. Mine was between the two, but they did me right when I made them aware... bob
