My new pet bird (need advice)

The laws pertaining to birds of prey are a little different here in PA so I decided to bring one of these home. However... these birds tend to be a bit loud and rowdy. From what I've researched it stems mostly from their diet. Even making my own food for her she's still really noisy and a handful. So much so she disturbs and wakes the neighbors. I can keep her somewhat sedated depending on the recipe I use making her food but I fear she'll get out of her cage one day and do damage to the frying pans hanging around the kitchen island. What should I do?

Eh. I suppose making it a full 5+ pounds wouldn't hurt.

do you reload? try 4227 if you do, slide may not lock back on a med load but its a lot nicer and less stressful on the bird handler.

shoot it left handed that way it will be an interrupted semi auto.

Yeah I use H110. I'm only goofin on this thread. I've handled these birds before just never owned one. The recoil is way over exaggerated on the tubes. Any issues I chalk up to inexperience. If you're an experienced handler it will be no problem at all. This is much more pleasant even at it's hottest loads to handle than my 44 mag short barrel. It's a 629 performance center and it is punishing to shoot. Even with rubber grips. The eagle on the other hand. I can't tell the difference between the 1200 fps food all the way up to the 1450 fps food. It just handles the recoil that nicely. I just gotta get some frying pan tests in to see if it will stack up to Will's standards.

I shot a mag through DE50 in Germany once. Being left handed the gun rotated in my hand enough under recoil that my trigger finger came in contact with the slide stop every time it fired. That is when I stopped wanting a DE50.

That's really unfortunate. The slide stop is so easy to engage but almost impossible to disengage 1 handed and a bear even using 2 hands. I don't even bother with it and just slingshot the damn thing.
