It feels great. Have not fired it yet but feels great and has a nice balance. Maybe my new carry gun. Got it from Grabagun. $689.00 including shipping and local transfer fee. Saved $180.00 from local dealer. Sorry local gun shop but $180 is nothing to sneeze at. That $180 will buy a lot of ammo.

It will buy ammo, I just wouldn't quite say it will be a lot of anything starting with the number 44. Sweet gun I must say though. Talked myself out of one more than once

I have one with the longer barrel. Very nice gun but it does kick a bit. Almost bought the new 357 k frame Maybe next paycheck

Nice looking Smith ya' got there. Better hang on to that sucker, she's certainly going to bark a bit. I acquired a Ruger SBH in 44 mag, with the 7 1/2" barrel a little while ago. They are fun.
As far as reloading goes, I load 'em up with 10-10.5gr Unique under a Keith style 240gr lead bullet. They'll give the "real feel" of that sucker!!

Sweet L frame .44 mag. Really like the matt stainless finish too. Those grips will be a god send when shooting full mag. Loads too. A lot of guys on the S&W forum sight bought them to shoot strictly hot loaded .44 specials. Mostly because everyone has been Jonesing for S&W to reproduce the 3” model 696 again but didn’t want to wait any longer.

Exactly what I do, I can tailor my loads from pipsqueak to what the hell was that. Plus it really does save some money from having to buy factory ammo. I showed this in the other thread, but wanted to show it off again. I replaced the original grips with Ahrends grips to fit my hand better, the finger grooves help me to control it better. I wasn't a fan of the original grips.
Let us know how they felt to you when you've touched off a cylinder full of pure magnums.
But to get back to the reloading, my $0.02 for what it's worth, I really like the Redding dies with the dual carbide sizers. It works the brass less, but everyone else makes good dies that will get the job done.

Although I do love my stainless S&Ws, I vowed years ago to never own one with the Hillary hole. Sometimes that saddens me a little when I see a pretty gun, but I'm first and foremost a man of my word. A vow is a vow.

Yes, the lock is referred to as “ The Hillary hole”
It’s easily disabled and plugged if you like.
There are numerous YouTube vids on how to disable it and there are also a couple of very good machinists out there who have produced plugs that cover the hole.
