My newest pistol - Smith & Wesson 1911

I’ve been on a self-imposed gun-buying pause for a little while, but I’ve also been wanting this pistol for a long time.

My desire to own this gun finally won out and I bought one. I found it on Gunbroker for a price I could live with. I brought it home today.

A Smith & Wesson E-Series 1911SC with a 4 1/4“ barrel. It has the scandium frame & factory-installed night sights.
I’m hoping to get to the range tomorrow - I’ll see what the day brings.
In the mean time, this gun satisfies over a year’s worth of wanting it and deciding if I wanted to spend the money.

Nice gun ! The S&W 1911 models have a pretty good reputation for not being especially ammo finicky while maintaining nice accuracy.

Also, I've noticed over the years that many (but not all) of the S&W 1911s that I've played with have tended to have slightly better than average triggers out of the box on standard production guns.

They are great 1911’s. I have the performance center scandium 4.25” and it’s been reliable with everything so far.

Nice gun! Oh look, smith and Wesson somehow figured out how to put the whole safety on a 1911. Amazing how so many high end 1911 companies still haven’t figured out how to do that yet (looking at you wilson combat, Ed brown etc)
