Well by living document I believe it is meant that amendments can be amended by a Constitutional Congress not nibbled away by arbitrary laws

There are misleading progressive social architects who claim our Constitution is a relic that they arrogantly claim was drafted for an unenlightened agrarian society. These elitists claim the Constitution is dated and it vests too much power to its citizens via both individual rights as well as local accountable representatives in Congress (who I may add were envisioned as citizen leaders that were selflessly willing to TEMPORARILY disrupt their productive successful lives in turn to help maintain this great republic as opposed to modern day career politicians). It is without question that these anti-Constitution activists are indigenous in our left wing Academia, the manipulative MSM commentators, and power hungry political operatives / activists who want to undermine the philosophy of checks and balances by transferring power from local individuals and their direct local representatives, to a ruling executive branch of a more massive government (or maybe even a world order).
The essential arrogance of these anti-constitution pundits is they expect us to believe they are more enlightened than the combined intellect of the most brilliant people over the history of mankind. The Constitution’s authors, who risked their lives, families and fortunes to form our republic, used lessons learned over recorded millennia from the history’s brightest scholars, theologians, philosophers, clerics, and leaders to devise a Republic which has no parallel with any former nation-state. Our Republic is not based on a sole common ethnicity or religion as the source of our national identity, the United States of America was founded on a set of strong convictions and values that were proclaimed and captured in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution. This country was formed to embrace the human values and individual rights and the Bill of Rights guarantees basic protections which have not become obsolete over time. The first 10 amendments ratified to the Constitution (aka the Bill of Rights) were a planned part of the process to provide constitutional protection for individual liberties and also to maintain the diverse union of our Republic. The guaranteed basic protections in the Bill of Rights (freedom of speech / religion / press, the right to bear and keep arms, the right for peaceful assembly, protection from unreasonable search and seizure, and the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury) are never obsolete or dated and they protect citizens from an over reach of power by any level of government as well as any oppressive group or a local majority social mob. Our Declaration of Independence makes it clear that all human beings are endowed with certain unalienable rights, and our government was created to protect those rights. In light of current attempts by know it all elitist groups it is now important to remember the Second Amendment protects an individual right that existed before the creation of any government, the unalienable right to freedom from violent harm, and the right to self-defense, which both existed before and outside of any secular government. The right to keep and bear arms is the unalienable right to individual self-defense against aggression of any kind. Self-defense is the ultimate right of all individuals to preserve life. The rights to a free press, free speech, assembly, and religion do not matter much if an individual can’t defend their own life against aggression. Also, no rights matter when an evil government is fully armed and its citizens are disarmed.
The problem with the original Constitution is not that it has become obsolete. The problem is that its wisdom has been forgotten and repressed by self serving modern “thinkers” who have either failed to understand or choose to deceptively mask the Constitution’s absolute righteous philosophical underpinnings and perpetual genius.

I have repeatedly told the Liberals that I work with, "We do not have a gun problem , we have a criminal problem." I ask them, "If I give each of you two loaded semiautomatic pistols to wear on your belt and a loaded AR-15 with a high-capacity magazine slung on your back for the next week here at work, how many people will be killed by those firearms by week's end? Zero. Why? Because you are not a murderer and those firearms are just inanimate objects that do nothing on their own."
Additionally, we are told that our youth is our greatest national asset. We use armed guards and security checkpoints to protect airports, courts, banks, and government buildings. Why do we protect our schools with mere signs warning criminals to stay away?

Ok we can all agree that people who grab a rifle and a bunch of magazines and go shoot up a school, concert, movie theater, etc are obviously suffering from a mental disease. It's just not normal or right. Agreed? And we can agree that alcoholism is also considered a disease. The Betty Ford clinic, as well as the NIDA (National Institute of Drug Abuse, www.drugabuse.gov), NIH (National Institute of Health) all classify alcohol addiction as a disease. Ok, agreed?
The FBI UCR (Uniform Crime Report) states the in 2015 252 deaths were by rifles. A total of 9616 guns deaths were reported, (although many of these were classified as suicides) . Now the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) states that in 2015 10,265 people died in alcohol related accidents. 10,497 in 2016. And we can agree that driving drunk is, without a doubt, illegal. Right?
So we have two forms of mental health issues and associated illegal behavior that result in inury and death. And everyone is focused on the guns (inanimate objects) as the problem. Yet nobody is suggesting that we get rid of cars (also inanimate objects) to stop DUI deaths. Nobody is rallying for installation of breathalyzers in all automobiles to help combat the problem.
So why are we focused on the guns and not the behavior?
Maybe you can further the argument with high powered V8 and turbocharged engines as well. I mean really, nobody NEEDS a high powered automobile that has that type of acceleration and speed. That only exacerbates the problem as well. Driving drunk AND having all that power is certainly unnecessary.
Try that argument at your next class or dinner party!

My 17 year old is a senior in high school. He has an economics class where the teacher is a conservative in the sea of liberalism lol. We have had discussions and agree on just about everything. So he is having his class discuss gun rights, the 2nd amendment, etc.. I have been giving my son a lot of stuff that would help him articulate his views which is obviously just like ours. Many kids in the class will have the typical, "Why does anyone need an AR", "You don't need 30 rounds for self defense", "Why not have laws like Britain or Australia", typical sheep talking points, etc.. I figured I would post here and see if there was anything I missed giving him in order to position his side. Feel free to give links if needed. Thanks.
So, here is one common argument that I tend to make on the pro-2A side:
Human nature has not changed. People still kill each other in the world, every day. Governments still abuse their people, and genocides still happen. To deny that human nature is one of brutality and competition is to live outside the realm of reality. That is precisely why we need the second amendment, as a protection of ourselves from the violence of each other, but also as a checkmate against the violence governments are able to perpetrate against their own people.

So to add to the thread since I seem to be a pro at derailing them, anytime someone bring up the amount of gun deaths in other countries like britain, ask them how they're doing with the amount of knife related deaths and injuries. Especially considering the fact that they have a knife control movement much like we have a gun control movement.

She patted me on the back and congratulated me for being genuine!
I had a moment like that with one teacher who tried to tell the whole class about how all white people feel a sense of innate guilt because of slavery. My family was not even in the united sates during slavery, and had zero to do with it. So I called her on her SJW bullshit.

This is not meant to derail or to one up. I have been the way I am for many, many years.
My oldest step son, when he was in the 4th or 5th grade was given an assignment. It was around Halloween, his teacher wanted him, and the entire class, to write a nasty letter to Mars candy in protest of the way they get their Chocolate. Much of the worlds cocoa is gotten through a form of slave labor. Me, I do not care where it comes from as long as the chocolate continues to flow.
Anyway, I informed him that he would not be writing the letter, I would. Boy, did I write a letter. I dumbed it down a bit so it would seem it was written by him. I basically said that as long as the taste did not change, I (He) did not care where the chocolate came from. It was a pretty thorough letter. He received a "C". That pissed me off, I went to the school, he was an "A" student. The teacher, the Principle and I had a great conversation. I told her, pretty strongly never to impose her screwed up values on my son again. His grade was changed to an "A"/
Speaking of "the chocolate flow", did you know that Charlie Bucket (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) lives right here in NY?
He lives in Lowville NY. I pass his house on the way to the 1000 Islands every year. He got out of acting after that one role.

My younger step son just Graduated last month from college. Associates degree, anyway, nearly all of his instructors were Liberal so he found it easier to lie on almost everything he turned in. Seems like lying does in fact pay off!

I was once given a "C" in pop culture, of all things, because my professor didn't like my conclusion.
Essentially, the question was whether we thought advertising had gone too far, and that it was making too much of an impression upon children. Of course the POS wanted me to conclude that capitalism and advertising was wrong.
My conclusion was that it's up to parents to teach their kids the difference between advertisement and reality, and we shouldn't be diminishing advertisements. We all have free will. I didn't believe that we're all hopeless enslaved to advertisement because we cannot resist it.
Anyway, doesn't matter. Went on to do way better than him in the end, in the "real world."

My son and I were up a little late last night discussing his points and preparing him for the class today. Wish I was there to observe. 17 years of educating him about his rights as well as him observing how I approach things will be on display today in his class. He said he wished I was there speaking out. I told him he has to remember a few things. First, his teacher thinks like we do which is pretty unusual. Second, he has right on his side. There is zero justification for what most of his classmates will be saying other than the media talking points. Should be pretty interesting.

My son said it went well. He and his friend were supposed to represent the NRA in answering questions. The usual came up and he answered everyone very specifically. His best response to me was a girl that said she wouldn't feel safe with a teacher carrying. His response was "actually being safe is more important than you feeling safe." He thinks on his feet pretty well lol as this wasn't something we discussed prior. They will resume tomorrow.
