Go read their posts on their forum. I think you'd probably retract that statement.Interesting read. I probably have more in common with them then with a lot of republicans
See if you can join up. They would probably like having you over there. They didn't like me and others over there though. Ymmv.I did. Saw @eris is a mod over there. I stand by my original statement.
Well I hope you stay involved here and you don’t jump ship.Interesting read. I probably have more in common with them then with a lot of republicans
Likely me too, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend and keeping my gun rights is huge with me. Other things can be settled or figured out mostly.not sure I have enough in common with them to hang out and shoot. I applaud them for there stand on guns but it pretty much ends there
How cute!! Sorry I just had too.My best friend is a liberal, we go shooting and gun shopping together all the time. We just don't ever talk about politics.

That’s good that you guys can do that and not talk politics.

tldr. As TBOT used to say... it's fun to shoot things.
These people will probably end up as republicans anyway They'll come to realize how intolerant the other liberals are. I'm not at all surprised gays are more accepted by republicans than guns are by some of their liberal friends.
As a mod I read almost every post. It seems pretty active to me.I went and took a read, cluster F of hypocrisy, and pretty dead threads.

I would bet if you remove the parties, Americans have a lot more in common than we realize. Gallup's latest AWB poll shows a majority of Americans oppose one (I do not have the site it was in the latest NRA mag), but the Dems will still push it in 2019.
Besides let us look at those brave Republicans on gun rights:
1) Nixon wanted to ban private handgun possession,
2) The Ford administration began ITAR
3) Reagan, May 1986 the FOPA--goodbye affordable machine guns for civilians
-Reagan-in retirement urges GOP Congressional members to support the 1994 AWB
4) Bush41, May 1989 bans import of AWs
5) Bush43, campaigns in 2004 to renew the sunsetting 1994 AWB, allows the 2005 import barrel ban
6) Trump, bump stocks and continues all retarded executive orders limiting imports from Russia and China
Yeah Dems really suck, but how about those Republicans????????????
Come on. Some of it was politics to get something.I would bet if you remove the parties, Americans have a lot more in common than we realize. I have been avoiding the talk of politics on this board as my interest in being active on the board is firearms, not getting into politics, however, this thread really struck a nerve with me, and as such, I figured I would lay out a few of my general beliefs in no certain order.
Trading civil liberties for “safety” by the passing of patriot acts 1 & 2 was an abomination
Gay marriage – Government should not have a say in it. Two people should be able to do what they wish
Abortion – Decision for woman and partner, not government
Taking a job as a fireman, cop, or soldier doesn’t instantly make you a hero, any more so than being black makes you a criminal, a jew makes you a banker or muslim makes you a terrorist
The militarization of our police force is counter productive
Marijuana should be legalized
My taxes are too high, both federally and on the state level
We intervene militarily far too often overseas
Corporations have far too much sway within the government policies
Subsidies should be terminated
Before money is added within the government budget to some program, an equal/greater amount should be taken from elsewhere
General feeling is that both parties are driving us towards a cliff, one is doing it at 60 mph, and the other is doing it at 45 mph.
As I have gotten older, my political feeling more mimic that of the minarchists. Believing in” a state whose only functions are to provide its citizens with the military, the police and courts, thus protecting them from aggression, theft, breach of contract and fraud and enforcing property laws”
Note that I have not assigned a “side” to any of the items above. Reason being is I don’t think you can broad brush and call a topic conservative or liberal, republican or democrat. The people who call themselves liberal on the coasts, are completely different from those in the majority of the country.
Again, only my beliefs. Take them as you will. Back to the discussion of guns now.
My guess is your close to my age with those beliefs. I think this is the norm for the modern conservative. The problem lies with the old guard wanting to play power politics and not representing the people anymore.I have been avoiding the talk of politics on this board as my interest in being active on the board is firearms, not getting into politics, however, this thread really struck a nerve with me, and as such, I figured I would lay out a few of my general beliefs in no certain order.
