My wife has finally agreed to get her pistol permit

My wife finally has come to me and said she wants to get her pistol permit. She states she feels if she doesn’t get it now she may lose the chance because of the current administration and laws coming down.
I’m happy. She doesn’t think she will cart it but one step closer. As a celebration I’m thinking of buying me, well her, no me a sig 365 xl optics cut. Then my plan is go get the compact frame for carry.

I think she will like the optic red dot sight. She won’t shoot a lot so I don’t think she will pick out her own gun yet. If she decides she wants one she can get whatever she pleases.

My wife got hers 3 years ago. She's been driving me nuts trying to pick out her carry gun ever since. As bad as taking her cloths shopping. Then when we go to the range I get stuck cleaning all the guns, picking up brass and reloading. Even took her to the NRA convention in Indianapolis for 8 hours of gun fondling.

After 37 years I feel like a newlywed on my wedding night.

My wife got hers about 3yrs also. Told me flat out she won’t carry, doesn’t care to shoot them. She just wants to protect her retirement fund in the basement in case I die or something.

I tried to get my wife to get hers, buts shes against it for some reason, she always said "I got you"

So she agreed to carry for a few weeks until she "got used to it".

Once she "got used to it", she decided she wanted to keep carrying

Maybe. She’s small and pretty. She gets approached by some weirdos. I’ve told her a number of times that’s why you need a gun. She always dismissed it. She did say she wanted a “pink one” I’ll get her what she wants if she wants one and get it cerakoted in pink.

I was able to get my wife to get her permit a few years ago. Her pistol is a .22 walther but she doesn't carry yet. She does like to go to the range and she loves shooting the ruger .357 magnum. So there's hope.

My GF and I have been together for about six months now. It was about two months before she realized that I carried. Then we had a really good conversation about WHY I carry. I also told her that I would never push her into shooting or getting her permit, and that if she did, it would have to be a decision she made on her own. My only insistence was that she come to me if she was curious and wanted to know more about the firearms that she may encounter around the house.

This weekend, I gave a Utah CFP class. She was in attendance, helping out with fingerprints and photos. We were both surprised at the number of women in the class, to include a couple of her girlfriends. I think she also took a couple of the things I said during the class to heart.

Afterwards, she started asking serious and pointed questions about the pistol permit process. I think she's going to do it.

My wife got here pistol permit a little over 5 years ago but she has been shooting with me for more than 30 years. Hell, longer than that I suppose as I took her shooting when we were dating. It was a pre requisite of mine. She owns a couple of pistols of her own but has yet to carry.
