It wasn't a warning. The guys name was Dann Ger.

On the top, harder to see is “danger” and a skull and crossbones sketch. Maybe the top was when he got his GED?

I think this first response nailed it. I have a few of these that my grandfather. (Mex border war and ww1 vet) repurposed for storing things in his workshop. Quite often he carved content ID into box ( the permanent marker of his day).

I still have one pristine example of box with preparation directions still legible.

Certain words were spelled differently long ago. My son is collecting coins and he just informed me dimes used to be spelled differently. I thought boy you crazy, he was right. I think it was disme, but I’d have to look. Maybe danger was the same.
