Online sales take place at the location of the seller, as is proven by the lack of NJ sales tax that was charged.
Any time a seller wishes to claim NJ (or NYS) laws prohibit the sale of something to you, remind them that they're asserting that the sale takes place in (NJ/NY) and not their home location.
And that means they owe a metric fuckton of back sales taxes.
Seems to me that EVERY SINGLE PLACE I've ever ordered from has a disclaimer somewhere that says it is up to the PURCHASER to make sure the item they order is legal in their State. Most places will not KNOWINGLY ship an item that is restricted, but they ALL have a disclaimer like that to prevent them from shit like this. I don't think N.J. will get very far with this as long as the seller has a half way decent lawyer.
