The CA version has just removed all indoor gas plumbing from the building code.

The only way to not comply is to refuse to comply with all the building code enforcement means.

I've said for a long time that building code was tyranny, and now we're seeing that writ large.

But way too many people have fallen for the "without the government conducting unreasonable searches during construction, all our homes will be death traps" line. So your neighbors will snitch on you during the remodel like Anne Frank's did.

It will also force people who aren't capable to attempt those remodels themselves, when they would otherwise have hired a professional. That will *create* the incidents that will be used to justify further restrictions.

This state aggregates me more and more as every day goes by. I know moving is t really an option at this point in my life but man I can dream. I don’t know what my future holds but this state is making me sick.
But NYS says they won’t ban gas grills so wait 5 years before it’s done and they groom others to be on board.

It is basically in the new building code. Gas plumbing is no longer approved in CA.

So any work that would require you to bring the place up to code means you have to disconnect it.

Typical liberal hype,never failing to not think things through before announcing some kind of knee jerk action or reaction.
I don’t think anyone in my part of central ny heats with anything other than either natural gas , propane, or heating oil, all ‘ fossil fuels’ because electric heating is cost prohibitive.

so does this deranged woman expect millions of households to saddle the costs of replacing their existing furnaces with electric units and pay much more for their monthly heating bills or freeze?

Just can’t see this coming to fruition but l can see massive revolt and a guaranteed change in state government leadership.

She expects both to bankrupt you with new regs since you can't afford the new equipment if you can get it due to high demand and limited supply and then when you do comply and shell out the dough, they will have you locked into electric and the demand there will be higher than the limited supply which will then bankrupt you through high prices and simultaneously freeze you to death as they ration electric or turn off your service for non-payment and fine you for the wood or coal or pellet or LP or Kero or diesel heater/fireplace/stove/generator you want to use for backup and confiscate/destroy it.
