As usual, a 'for the greater good' organization that speaks out of both sides of their mouth. From their website:
"Assault style weapons have been legal to buy in most states since the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban expired in 2004. We are not advocating any retroactive prohibition. We, however, would like to see the purchase ban re-instituted on a Federal level. "
And yet they also say:
"This organization supports the passage of legislation that will ban civilian ownership of all assault weapons."
So which is it? A ban on future sales without prohibition for those already owned? Or, ban civilian ownership which means all 'assault weapons' are banned?"
Amazing how they continually speak out of both sides of their mouth.
