Back on topic...

I’m gathering the parts for a 9mm AR finally. It’s going to be a 10.5” side charger. I bought an FM upper from Primary Arms and a pistol LPK with adjustable brace from Palmetto. I’m just waiting on the lower. I bought this one in black:

TAC-9 Stripped Receiver, Glock Mag Compatible

Probably going to put a Bushnell TRS-25 on it. I love that thing. Haven’t decided on irons yet. I sold my .223 AR pistol (fun but pointless) and Marlin Camp 9 (yup, crazy but I won’t use it anymore after this).

I prefer the Colt mags as they drop easier from the lower for reload. Depends on the purpose of the build though. I was using mine for three gun.

If you have a 9mm Glock I would see why you chose the Glock style as well.

I had a nice build should have never sold it but I guess I can just build another one.

That is the reason for me: I carry a 26 daily and also have a 19. Are the Colt mags compatible with any handguns? I don’t recall.

I’m torn selling the Camp 9, but I can get a lot of money for it and really won’t have any use for it. I’ve never been one to keep guns that are just taking up space.

No I don't think there is one pistol I can bring to mind where the colts mags are compatible. That is why i understand with many of the 9mm AR builds people choose the glock style. I have a glock 30 and building a 45 Ar is expensive as hell so not really an option for me to have interchangeable mags.

THE DEFINISTION OF A PISTOL IS NOT WHAT YOU SAID.

A pistol can be any OAL. It can have a barrel that is any length. I can have a pistol and add a 16 inch barrel and it is still a pistol.

Thanks, i'm going to recheck my info........yup, you are correct, you can change your pistol to a rifle with a 16" barrel, but not the other way around. I knew this, I guess I was a little off on the pistol thing, an SBR has a barrel under 16". As a pistol the measurements are as I said, under 26", no more than 13 1/2 from trigger to butt

30+ years of service only possible in the national guard, reserves or Active Duty CW4, CW5 or General Officer. CSMs may make it that far but, they wouldn't PCS to a Reserve Center before retirement.
