No. The "infection" is the thought/concept/dream that government is the pinnacle of human achievement and that government, with enough laws, can perfect humanity. Once people become dependent on the government that they have created, they become enslaved by their creation. Government should be as minimal as possible....so say constitutionalists. Government should be omnipresent and even govern our thoughts...so say Liberal Progressives (who want governmental regulations on pronouns).

I don't believe that at all. Humans have created a lot more than government, though I would say self governance through voting is better than a religious autocratic system. No such thing as "perfecting" humanity, different people have different wants/desires. I'd argue that giving people the ability to pursue their own path is closer to perfection than any one groups vision of perfection, no matter who that group is.
That depends, Dependent without a way to be independent then yes. Some temporary assistance due to hardship (ie. unemployment from your job closing) then I'd say no.
I don't believe govt should control your thoughts. That whole pronoun thing is nonsense, but another topic of it's own.

The current government wants you to be dependent without the opportunity to be independent. Current Liberal Progressive state governments are using a health issue to destroy small businesses in favor of large businesses (big box stores, big tech, etc) who can contribute the most to their campaigns.
You cannot support "sort-of-small" government. Either you support a minimalist government that exists within the confines of its explicit, enumerated, constitutional powers or you support a government that will naturally grow to consume all resources to promote its continued existence.
Liberal Progressives support government for government's sake. THAT is the antithesis of American founding principles.

You do not "give" people the ability to pursue their own path with government. Pursuit of "happiness" is a natural right. The American founders understood that. Overbearing government can only curtail natural rights....not maintain them.
That's more or less what I was getting at, perhaps "give" was a poor word to choose.
