New Alien Gear Low-Pro Belly Band Holster

I have used a belly band in the past - for hiking, or certain clothing (scrubs) it's a good option. Not the most secure - one belly band I tried had a retention strap but the other did not. If you were running I'd worry about the gun working itself loose. Apparently Alien Gear decided to fix this -

I don't have a need for a bellyband anymore (though would still be useful for hiking), but at $68 I'm not really willing to test it out... Especially since the one Alien Gear holster I tried was returned - I don't think I have the picture anymore but the trigger guard didn't fully cover the trigger. Maybe it was a one-time error.

If it was $50.... maybe it would be worth getting.

Never tried a belly band. I do have some Alien Gear shape shift stuff, and I love it.

It was a good idea but bad execution . It’s too thick . Try a tactipac holster instead.

This is quickly becoming my summer carry method. A G27 in a sticky holster behind the map panel. Also in side is a magnesium fire starter, compass, knife, cell phone, 10000maH Anker battery, wallet and whistle for now. It is a learning process for what to carry.


Have practiced the move of retrieving my wallet for the bad guy and firing through the side of pouch. Gotta remember to lift my off hand elbow! No live fire yet.

Not what I will wear to Mothers Day dinner it’s a fanny pack in front.

FWIW, both myself and my wife have been using an Enigma chassis system from phlster holsters. She loves the set up for both the g19 and 43. I have also found it fits a role when running or wearing business attire. Probably the best setup that fills a specific role. Ill never go back to a belly band again.

I have a Hill People Gear chest pack and do like that method of carry. I pretty much just use it for working out, hiking, or hunting.

That looks decent if you need to use a belly band. Crossbreed makes a similar one that uses a gun specific hard molded shell also. I used it a few times back when I had a job where I needed to conceal or face being fired. I would use it on my waistline and tuck my shirt over it and my waistline would cover it. It was undetectable. In general though there isn't much reason to use these setups.

Now days I open carry as a function of my employment so I really don't care at all about any of it. Once in a while we will throw a hoodie over our duty weapons if we're plain clothes and following someone around doing surveillance. Nobody ever picks up on it. These are full size weapons in OWB duty type holsters. They stick out away from the body big time. Still not a point or a peep from anyone. People are clueless.

Ditch the carry bag or fanny packs. The enigma is just the latest gimmick to swindle some more cash out of the hands of people who play into this manufactured fear of "printing". "Printing" simply does not exist for all intensive purposes. You only print to yourself because you already know its there. Nobody is going to stop and stare you down, looking up and down, back and forth, examining any inconsistencies or slight bumps under your shirt. It's simply foolish to think they would. They are living their lives. Even if someone made out a bump there are 100 things it could be and gun is the last thing anyone thinks of. Stop carrying in fear. Unless you're violating the law or judges orders, there is simply no reason to. Just relax. The bank robber isn't going to bust through the door and start examining waistlines for bumps

All you need is something like this cheap holster. It's well made and does all it needs to. Gun clicks in properly, allows a full firing grip and it stays put. Get a decent belt and you're all set.

@Edwardteach72 Thats great and I hope you like it was much as we do. A suggestion is to watch their videos on the setup. It’s not like anything else out there so it isn’t immediately intuitive. Makes perfect sense when we followed along with the video. Set it up once and never again.

Oh I've watched probably every video by every quality YouTube channel on the Enigma since it's been announced and then released.

Saw someone post up that the new light bearing version was actually in stock and I couldn't pass it up.
