Looking at NYS as a whole I won’t carry any knife on me. Pretty much every pocket knife I like is spring assisted and spring assisted is illegal across the state, regardless if there’s a button on the handle or a tab on the blade that you can push. Someone was just prosecuted this year for one. This State has the most insanely ridiculous laws. But better to be safe than sorry and end up in a court room and losing all your other privileges too. Pretty sad honestly.

Thats how I’m understanding it. It was ruled the blade and handle were all one so even with the tab on the blade they still categorized it as a switch blade due to being spring asssisted with a “button”.

They also have a blade length limit.

Look no further than their gravity knife rulings.

I don't handicap myself to follow imaginary laws here in upstate, as the real ones are bad enough.
