no no I mean on the shelfs of my safe.........didnt mean to say or imply that I keep it on my "REGULAR; shelves around the house..that woud be irresponsible of me.......its sitting Looking pretty on my safes shelves......I mean to sayNo no no, don't leave ammo lying around, or gun magazines (publications) or anything that would arouse suspicion.
On 4/2023 they will be doing ammunition background checks through the state police at a cost of $10/check. If the state police are doing the background checks for ammunition and you have to register and recertify your assault weapons registration with the NYS police then they know what assault weapons you have if you have registered ones. When you have reached your 20 round limit the NYSP will seemingly know that and know that caliber is for your registered AW and deny the transfer of THS ammunition. They are asking for caliber and amount of ammo being transferred at the time of sale. Of course this is all speculative because the law above hasn’t passed and who knows if they will actually do NYSP ammo background checks as proposed by the CCIA.Help me understand this
Hmm. I believe the only so called legal, as defined by the SAFE ACT as "assault weapon" here in NY are the ones owned by those who decided to comply and register them under that grace period. Everything else that was modified for compliance to the SAFE ACT is no longer an assault weapon as defined by NY. It doesn't explicitly exempt LEO's and those LE organizations so they will therefor have to comply with this new law.
Yep, you'll need to spend 10 years collecting ammo to have enough to get your permit. Lol.Couple that with the live fire requirement for the CCW permits that take 200+ rounds....and you have....oh, wait....
DAMN!!! there goes another great enterprise idea. COME ON WHORCHUL, how the fuck am I going to make money if you keep killing off my grand ideas. it was just going to be a small markupUPDATE: The enacting clause has been stricken, THE BILL IS DEAD.
The NY SAFE ACT has their clear definition of an "Assault Rifle". Now I understand this new law uses the term "Assault Weapon". Now the bill refers to 265.00, so checking Penal code section 265 it states this:Seems like a lot of work to pass a law for the 3-4 people who registered 'assault weapons'...
Well hell, that's no biggie, just buy in March or wait until May!On 4/2023 they will be doing ammunition background checks through the state police at a cost of $10/check.
