New camp knife

I pick up one of these From time to time for my do it ( almost) all camp knife. These railroad spike forged knives are tough as hell and can take a beating, literally.
The one that I picked up several years ago is getting a bit worn from using it for just about anything from hammering it into wood to split for a fire to digging a small fire pit. It was time to retire it to more menial work and get a new one.

I really like that. Where do you get those from. Seem like it would be a reasonably priced knife.

I've always wanted a railroad spike knife. After researching, I found that the spikes are made in two varieties, low to medium carbon content. Always wondered how good they might be & they look solid!
I see them on Ebay & really like this one.

I used to get them from a smith that I met several years ago at the Northeastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous in PA. He was from Wisconsin. Unfortunately I found out this year that he had to lay his hammer down due to illness. The one that I posted a pic of was purchased on ebay. There are a few good smiths on there that post there wares. If you look and find one that you like ask the seller some questions related to the steel. Not all use real , older High carbon steel rail road spikes.
