Unless it has a alloy frame it is a DS.

Looks more like a Charter Arms to me.

Same here. I have a 1969 Colt Detective Special. Thinking its about the same size.
Here is my colt and daily carry SP101 for comparison. Thinking I would prefer the SP101 over the new Colt since it could handle the .357.

Very interesting, even though Colt set the standard many years ago with snubbys. I think they may be late to the game in the new generation of wheelguns. Especially up against the Ruger LCR and even Kimber's K6 offering...not to mention the limitless amount and configurations Smith has out there. My $.02.

For a short period of time Colt did make a 357 Detective Special. Perhaps it was in the early 1990's and production numbers were low. In Colt's infinite wisdom they discontinued manufacturing it. All the reviews in the gun mags were stellar.

I'm sure this is just the start, more models and variations to come. Will they regain their glory, probably not, but they can still be a player.
Many folks feel they abandoned the civ market when they went whole hog fed contract. There is alot of truth to that, and will they be able to overcome it.
Time will tell, if they produce a viable product people have short memories.
