A lot of these solutions for skirting around the fixed mag regulation use the takedown pin. I wonder what effect would repeatedly taking down the rifle would have on zero. I'd imagine it would be negligible at very short ranges, but much more pronounced out to longer ranges? And as with any friction fit mechanism, its bound to get looser over time, which would make it worse.
IMO, accuracy is determined by the upper. The fit of upper to lower has little impact. If wear became an issue, the holes could be sleeved with steel and a pin (replaceable) of softer steel be used.
The real question is, although this passes in CA, what would the outcone in NY ?
