New Harbor Freight #57039 Gun Safe

Yesterday I bought one of the #57039, the larger of the 2 gun safes sold by Harbor Freight. After the usual Friday Chinese Buffet Day, and some great weather, I got the safe moved into the house, with some help from the other diners. I spent the afternoon, getting it in place and loaded up.

why is not your house a gun safe it has locks on the doors ??

I agree, Safes are meant to keep honest people honest and to make it harder for the determined to get what they are after. They are not fool proof and usually will deter the typical smash and grab tweaker Looking for fast cash.

I have this safe. I know a determined burglar can break into it. I don't really care. It will dissuade a casual, smash and grab burglar and keep my kids and their friends out until they are old enough to be responsible.

Every Friday at the Chinese Buffet, after buying lunch, they feel obligated to help, they had to move it 50Feet, with a appliance cart, I did not over tax them. I worked harder moving an engine for one guys car last week
