New Indoor Range - Rochester NY - On Target Firearms

I just got back from a visit at a brand new indoor range. It's in an eastern suburb of Rochester NY (5 minutes from my house ). 10 lanes are available with a maximum distance of 25 yards. You can shoot whatever you want - pistols, rifles, shotgun (but shotguns are limited to slugs only - no buckshot/birdshot). Brand new, well ventilated and the guys that run it are very friendly. I brought my own guns but they might have rentals available. They are an FFL and sell guns as well.

The name of the range is On Target firearms. They don't have a web site but instead a facebook page.

The address is 750 basket road, webster ny. It is roughly 100 yards off the route 104 highway so it is very easy to get to. If you are looking for an indoor place to shoot this is a great spot. Lane rentals are $18 an hour for 1 person but if a second person joins it is only an additional $9. I believe they are open 7 days a week. If you live in monroe or wayne county I highly recommend it. Hell, if you reside on the west side of syracuse it might be worth the trip just to check it out.

Are there any indoor ranges in the syracuse area? If not then I would say yes. I grew up in the town of North syracuse. Take 370 to 104 west and turn right at the light at basket road.

There is another range open on slocum a 104 behind the speedway. Friend stopped in 8 lanes at 50ft. Gun and pawn

Thanks for letting us know. They are close to me. That hourly rate is not amazing (firing pin at bergen NY is $13/hour).

AFAIK the most popular indoor range in the area would be genessee conservation league in penfield, which has a rifle, outdoor pistol, archery, and a bunch of indoor lanes.

If on-target gets into gun rentals it will see strong business. I've gone to the firing pin several times just to rent different ones.

Don't recall the name, if you remember the old pizza hut in front that was a pawn shop, its that business built the range and move behind the gas station. I believe they are also going to rent guns. It'll be interesting how two ranges within a few miles of each other work out along with the effect on the firing pin. A number of firing pin customers come from the east side don't have to go that far now.

Wife and I would usually go to the Firing Pin for Valentine's Day. If there's a decent rental selection, we'll definitely be going to one of these two instead.

Genesee conservation league is a members only club and not open to the public. Plus you are limited to pistols or .22lr rifles at the indoor range. No shotguns or higher velocity rifles allowed indoors. I have been a member there for 4 years. Overall their facilities are nice. They have separate outdoor ranges for rifles and pistols, but I doubt they get much use during the winter.

Agreed. The outdoor pistol range doesn't get much use so it's easy to be the only one there. The rifle range sees more activity in the fall of course, but mid-day much of the rest of the year you can be the only one there or maybe one other person. For the location + price combo I think it's a great place to have a membership. 200 yard rifle range in a major city like this I have to think is pretty rare. Nobody would ever, ever get approval for such a thing new now.

I do dislike that there is no tactical range. I've been thinking about checking out ontario rod and gun because they have 3 gun matches up there and, I think, tactical shotgun/rifle range, and membership is pretty cheap. Honestly part of the reason I haven't is I don't want to go nuts with a monthly ammo budget.

I used to work just up Basket Rd less than a mile away. Too bad this wasn't 3 years ago but I'll try it out soon don't want to wait until spring to do some shooting away from the cold winds at my outdoor range.
