For me the logic seems pretty simple. People are not getting better at their jobs, but robots are. It's possible to build a robot to do a whole whack of things that people currently do, but it's not done because the robot, at this time, is more expensive. As technology improves, the cost of that robot comes down. As labor prices increase (e.g. minimum wage increases), you also speed the point at which the cost of the bot is lower than that of the human. When they intersect, the business will move to the robot.

Fast food is seeing now and it will accelerate a shift toward automation.

To me it makes perfect sense from the liberal stand point. So no one is better off, but the cost gets spread through out the chain right? So the minimum wage earners will see a bit more in thier paycheck and vote democrat right? So the minimum wage doubles effectively so there is more payroll tax and more sales tax collected. The minimum wage earners will still spend ever penny they make. These people will still qualify for government assistance believe it or not. Then there will be more money in the pipe line to support the people that lost their jobs due to robots. Guess what there will be more voters for the democrats then. So most people that lost their jobs and got a minimum wage raise will vote democrat. We loose loose since republicans will Lose votes and we will pay more for everything and I won't go from making $60,000 to even $65,000. So again I will Loose. This very well maybe the straw that breaks the camels back and I may have to sell my house. I am down $6,000-$7,000 already due to Obamacare so I just can't absorb much more into my budget at this point. I fear this is the fate of many.

You can't escape it though. Everything and I mean everything you buy would go up. Food, gas, guns, anmo. Everything also if you take a family of 4 at $15/hour they still get free health care. Also it's been said many say they will just work less hours.
