You don't see the point of getting a better grip on a pistol?Full size at 17 rounds? It’s probably more than what we need in NYS since we’re locked down to 10 rounds. I don’t see the point of a full sized gun in this state.
exactly what I was thinking.Looks like the other 46 Glocks before it.
I have small ah da and can get a proper grip on many compact and even some subcompact pistols so not a problem for me.You don't see the point of getting a better grip on a pistol?
I'll sum all that up in a few words... It is not a "New Model" Glock 47. LOLThe 47 gets a big fat "meh" from me.
It has taken Glock until just now to finally make a factory-ish long-slide G19 possible, but only by purchasing two guns.
I had a 17 grip chopped down to 19 size over fifteen years ago, and I certainly wasn't the first or last.
Using past behavior as predictor, I would guess that they chose to release this mostly redundant contract gun to the civilian market because they fully expect the large cadre of reliable fanboys who want a factory-ish long-slide 19 to pony up for yet another 9mm Glock. And only when they feel they have milked that segment for all its worth, will they actually release a factory long-slide 19 model, to which the paid shills will react like its a revelation.
Gaston's game is getting stale, just like the product.
If you need that first, reliable defensive pistol, by all means get a Glock. If you are an agency/military and need cost effective, reliable service weapons, go right ahead and buy Glocks. But as an individual who has surpassed those basic needs and is competent to discern the essential qualities of a firearm for themselves, I would rather open my wallet for a company who is actively pushing the industry forward, innovating.
Almost two decades have past since it became apparent that maintenance of their existing product line had become a burden to future development, and that Glock had decidedly shifted to a reliance on monopolistic largess and marketing to continue to drive sales over continued innovation.
I know, the firearms industry is riddled with missteps and failures. And biz is biz. Also, it is good to have an industry standard as a foundation for the innovators to try and exceed, but IMO Glock has taken the role of the large industrial sloth to the extreme, just as always seems to happen when a company attains somewhat of a monopoly. As a free market proponent/participant, it's my view that it is the duty of willing and able, mature consumers to steer capitol elsewhere. Thankfully, the industry is healthy and there are many such choices.
Having a small ah da has nothing to do with it. Stick to the subject.I have small ah da and can get a proper grip on many compact and even some subcompact pistols so not a problem for me.
LOL I saw that and was going to suggest @Saltwater60 have his wife proofread his comments...but then it occurred to me maybe she did...Having a small ah da has nothing to do with it. Stick to the subject.
