Are new post supposed to pop into a thread you are reading as soon as they are posted? Really messes with following responses to other posters.

The version of Xenforo we use is actually pretty advanced in that you'll see a little box that says something like "Replies have been posted since you last loaded the page" (Or something like that).
It can't actively constantly refresh the whole page to see new responses while you're typing or it would constantly be wiping out what you were typing.

Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're referring to. It's also possible you're referring to something different than the OP.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean , but I would guess it has something to do with what is actually a very advanced feature for a forum style site that we use wherein , depending on certain factors of how you go to it, automatically brings you to the first thing you haven't yet seen in a thread.
It might be some kind of feature, but I don't think its the one you are referring to. In my example above, I would be reading page 10, get to the bottom of the page and there would be the newest post on the thread- only I wouldn't realize its the newest post until I read pages 11-20 and then see the same post again in the place where it should be at the end of page 20.
That is exactly what I was posting about, and it my end up being multiple post.

I am talking about the changes made to this website a while back.
Some people liked the change and others did not. Remember?
Along with those changes included different color themes, a little bit of a change with some other things.
I wish that I could think of the correct terminology for what I am trying to say... facepalm.
Right after the change, there were more threads started in the "help" section than usual.
When members were adjusting to the change.
I do not know how to explain it. But there was a change. I just don't know what term to use other than "format."
Remember? Some members liked the change and some did not at first.
Man, I am feeling like a dumb ass about now.

A change to the sites "software" might be a better way to explain it.

Oh, yeah I fully understood you were referring to the software update; that wasn't the confusion at all. We went from Xenforo 1.x to 2.x.
It's the exact nature of the problem that I'm not getting. In my first post here I was under the impression from the OP that @nortatoga was talking about posts being made while a person was typing out their own post.. or barring that just whether or not posts automatically pop up by automatic refreshing (and they don't). It would seem however this is not the real question.
Perhaps if someone can screenshot the issue, and explain the exact circumstances in some detail, I could form an answer. From the information at hand it's slightly too vague for me to know if this is an problem or misundersatood feature.
From my post in #9, I meant something along the lines of that perhaps the redirect feature is causing people to not realize where they've been redirected to, but maybe it's something else. As I said, I can't really know without a documented experience and/or an exact recounting with all the details.
@HEX , What is happening is any new post to a thread you may be reading is getting added to the end of the page you are reading. My settings are 30 post per page, Say I start reading a thread which has gotten 150 replies before I start to read it and as I get to post 29 a new post is added at 151 I see it after post 30. It's not to bad if it is just one post that may not make much sense, But if it's a pissing match ( I know that doesn't happen here! ) starts you are like were the heck did this come from! The answer post 151,152 and so on! And I am only up to post 30

I pretty much had to wait to see it happen a few times myself to really get a feel for what was up. So, I'm fairly certain this is an intended function by one of the plugins, but it's not quite that simple. I could be mistaken , but I think it's a part of the process by which PMs and Alerts are shown without having to refresh a page. That being (probably) so, I don't want us to break those functions or anything.
I do agree that this 'feature' is annoying and I'll (eventually..heh) look more into if the functions can be separated (And then probably bring it to NYGuns's attention, once I have further investigated, because it's really more of his dept).

I get crap popping up all over the place, I have to be careful where I put the curser because shit pops up, WTF! Even after I dodge the mine field and actually get to a posting, if I'm in the field of the subject some rectangle full of numbers pops up. The subjects are all layed out, why the fuck do I need it to blow up if my cursor accidentally stops on it. Oh yeah and another pain in the ass, when I hit on a post it doesn't go to the new postings, I have to find them. If it had been this way from the start I would probably said, oh well, but this place used to be very user friendly and efficient so what ever was done in the name of whatever, its fucked up.

This thread was really about a very specific thing (however long it took me to get it) , but in any case I have honestly no idea what you're talking about here. The only thing I can think of that 'pops up' are how you get a preview of the OP when staying hovering over a thread title, and getting a consolidated profile information when you hover over a username/avatar. Those of course only happen in the fullscreen/non-mobile version.

As to, "Oh yeah and another pain in the ass, when I hit on a post it doesn't go to the new postings, I have to find them".. the function appears to be working fine as far as I can tell. Perhaps you're misunderstanding what it does ? Either that or I'm not understanding what you're trying to say.
When you click on a thread, the site takes you to the first post in that thread that it believes you have not yet seen. There are exceptions when that does not happen, based on a variety of things, but in those cases you can click the 'Jump to New' button to perform the same function.

what i have seen . new thread .. 10 pages .,. im reading and on page 5 and someone posts . it shows up before i get to page 10 .. just got used to it .. weird but it is what is is ..

Okay, previews is what you call them I guess, I wish they weren't there. If I want to go there, I hit on it, I don't need peoples name and stats, or posting subject matter blowing up when if I want to know that stuff its' a click away.

You can see a can of saline spray in his backpack pocket in one of the videos - presumably for OC/CS eyewash. "Paramedic" on his hat, but I bet he has no training or creds whatsoever. He wasn't there to help the cops or the innocent civilians that got sprayed or injured. He was just another rioter, helping rioters, LARPing to be something more valuable than the piece of shit he is.

He was there in support of the rioters. In the snapshots which show he had his hands up, he also had a handgun in his right hand. When he was shot by the 17 yr old victim defending his life from a mob, he had turned that gun to point at the kid on the ground. Classic "sneak up" approach. Paramedic? With a gun? Bullshit.
