I've tried it. I like it. it's great for striker fired guns. Granted i do a lot of live fire and dry fire every week.
You don't like it? Don't buy it.

It's not really a matter off "don't like it, don't buy it." It's a simple question from someone curious about the product and not really understanding it's use without any relation to the actual trigger pull.

I like the concept. I get what Darth saying, however where I could see a benefit is in the practice of your own trigger control. Imagine practicing trigger control with your favorite gun, then you go and use a different gun, your trigger control in general would still transfer over even if the feel of the trigger is different from gun to gun.

Of course I think it would be a much better product if it actually figured out how to reset the trigger of the gun you're using so that the feel is identical to live firing but this is a good start, this is how innovation happens.

I'll try fire with a "dry" firearm... Don't need anything to help it along. Besides, racking the slide also is beneficial to muscle memory! Additionally dry firing and racking the slide one handed, opposite handed, using various positions assist muscle memory.


I do agree with @Celt though that all new products are good for innovation. I'm just a bit too old school to jump right in.

I didnt look at the price, i was just looking at the concept and innovation of it. Personally I wouldn't spend that much on it.

I do the dime drill where I put a dime in the front site and dry fire over and over trying to not have the dime fall off each time. Greatly dependant on trigger feel.

Try it with a round standing on the front end. This is obviously for pistols like the glock where the round can actually stand up.

Think I'll pass. I prefer to rack the slide during dry fire drills, it's more "real life" to me that way.
But hey, to each his own. If someone likes the idea and wants to buy one, I say... go for it, it's your $$!

When my kids were little I bought them pellet rifles, those Crosssman's that amp up the speed the number of pumps you give it. I would shoot them myself, terrible triggers, LOP was way too short and the gun was so light it, or I, weaved all over the place, nothing like any rifles I had, but practicing with those guns and the discipline I needed to make accurate shots made me a better off hand shot with my rifles. Same with the hand guns, practicing with my pellet pistol made me a better shot with my hand guns, well at least single action.
No matter what tool you use it will help you become better if you stick with it and exercise some self discipline. Weather you use the $100 dollar tool offered here, or the dime on the sight one, they all work to one degree or another. The dime one sounds good, have to give it a go, never heard of that one before.

Interesting idea, but in my mind 1) too expensive (can get a laser system for that price) and 2) doesn't mimic the actual trigger pull, which isn't that the point of dry-firing? (obviously it would help a little, but don't see it being worth the cost)

White Oak Armament variant for AR-15 pattern rifles. Resets the "native" trigger so the pull/feel is identical. I know, purists will bitch because there is an extraneous motion involved, but until they make a nuclear powered version, suck it up.

Why so much hate on this product? Some of the best shooters in the world use SIRT pistols for dry fire. Some of the best shooters in the world use their real guns for dry fire. Some of the best shooters use the dry fire mag. I know for a fact that Steve Fisher of Sentinel Concepts uses the dry fire mag and he likes it. I'm also pretty certain that Rob Voegel likes the dry fire mag as well. That says something. All of those methods have pros and cons but they all offer options for effective dry fire practice. Hell, Ben Steoger - world champion- even says that having that exact replication of your trigger isn't too much of an issue. Read his books and watch his dry fire sessions. Most of his reps are on a dead trigger.

I've trained with @OnSight Firearms Training , the last thing the crew there would do is recommend a product that would have negative results.

I use a SIRT pistol and my actual carry gun for dry fire. Neither are perfect. But they both sure as hell work for me. Perfect training is live ammunition.

There are ZERO dry fire options that are perfect when it comes to "muscle memory". This is another tool for the tool box.

You can make adjustments to it to mimic the breaking point and trigger weight of your gun. While it does feel different, it's pretty damn good.

Unless you have a DAO handgun, how can you possibly be just dry firing one shot at a time? This is great for those of us that pull the trigger once, and then just bounce the dead trigger around while practicing splits and transitions.

Any movement of the trigger while you watch the sights is good practice. You shouldn't be training to shoot a gun by the feel of the trigger, you should be practicing how to press a trigger until the shot breaks. Only the latter of those skills is transferable to anything besides your own gun.

I can make it work with my flat face Apex kit. I just put a piece of folded over boxboard between the mechanism and the trigger bar and it stays the whole time I'm using it.

So I decided to bite the bullet (ha, puns) and pick one of these up for the M&P full-size. (works in the 2.0 Compact as well)

It is definitely helpful for dry fire practice, HOWEVER, like stated above, it is noticeably different from the stock trigger. Is it different enough to be an issue? Hard to say, it's close enough for me, but others might not think so.

I had e-mailed them a question about using with an Apex trigger and they responded within a day or two saying it should work fine, I just might have to adjust the mag to better correspond to the Apex. However when I picked up my 2.0 Compact from the FFL I found the trigger to be good enough on its own. (still might put it in my fullsize, haven't decided yet)

If I were to change a few things... make the magazine all orange instead of just the base plate. Minor thing, and I always triple-check anyway, but.. Next thing: lower the price. Maybe they will after they recoup research/patent costs. (or maybe if they lowered prices they couldn't keep up with demand)

The click is a little annoying, I've tried to adjust it per their email but haven't noticed much of a difference. I read somewhere (here? elsewhere?) that someone removed the spring to deaden the sound. Not sure if I'll do that, probably keep it 'stock' for now.

Still a cool device, and should help quite a bit with my dry fire training, since I can't get to the range as much as I'd like to.
