I'm new to the group, but not new to shooting.
I've been out to Front Sight in Pahrump, NV 3 times (2 4-day defensive handgun 1 4-day defensive shotgun) and hope to go back soon for 4-day defensive rifle. If you haven't been out there, I highly recommend it. If you try it and like it, I have a few extra memberships I can let go of very cheap.
I just applied for my pistol permit in Yaphank on July 10th (been procrastinating for years). I've had my interview and filled out my NYS form and submitted it. I've been told 4-6 months from now I should have my permit, which seems to be in line with others recently.
I've only been to a few ranges on LI, none of which I have loved, so any recommendations are welcome.
Also any LI gun stores with great prices on pistols, rifles, and dare I say it these days, ammo, I'd love tips as well.
